When you talk to someone you trust and share your sad feelings you know you have a sympathetic ear and may even suggest ways to help you overcome your sadness. And, just talking about the pain will help to reduce its impact enormously and help you to be happier. Paint, write or talk about your feelings. Do not trap your feeling inside. Keeping them bottled up only makes them larger that they really are when you express your feelings it allows you to release them and their effects upon you.
Pick a medium - paint your feelings with colors, write them down in a journal or just talk. Immerse yourself in the hobby and it will allow you to overcome sadness. Change your physiology - check your body. When you change your physiology you can change how you feel. Stand with good posture, go for a walk or swim. Immediately you will feel release of your sad feelings because you have occupied your mind with other tasks. Take a break by stopping your normal routine.
